[Reference entry - not a grower report] This post was generated automatically from public fig references to seed the variety archive. It is not anyone's first-hand growing experience, and the photos are generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica, not of this specific variety. Corrections from real growers are welcome. Morguz is a fig variety of Turkish origin, commonly grown in Mediterranean and warm temperate regions. The fruit is reported to be medium-sized with dark purple or black skin when fully ripe. The flesh is typically deep red or purple. Ripening occurs in late summer to early autumn. Little detailed documentation exists in English-language fig literature, and it may be less widely distributed than classic European varieties. Growers should note that confirmation of identity for this variety can be challenging due to limited photographic and ampelographic reference material in common circulation.
