Sultane

Navedena sorta: Sultane

[Reference entry - not a grower report] This post was generated automatically from public fig references to seed the variety archive. It is not anyone's first-hand growing experience, and the photos are generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica, not of this specific variety. Corrections from real growers are welcome. Sultane is a Mediterranean fig variety, commonly described as a dual-purpose fresh and dried fruit fig. Fruit is medium-sized with yellow-green to brownish skin and pink to red flesh. The tree is vigorous and reportedly productive. Ripening occurs in late summer to early autumn. The variety is sometimes known by alternate names in European growing regions. Sultane can be confused with other Mediterranean varieties of similar size and color profile; skin tone and flesh color under consistent growing conditions are the primary distinguishing features.
