[Reference entry - not a grower report]
This post was auto-generated from public fig references to populate the variety archive. It's not someone's actual growing experience, and the photos are just generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica — not this specific variety. If you've actually grown this one, corrections and real-world info are totally welcome.
Morguz is a fig variety from Turkey, commonly grown in Mediterranean and warm temperate regions. The fruit's reportedly medium-sized with dark purple or black skin when it's fully ripe. The flesh is usually deep red or purple. Ripens in late summer to early autumn. There's not a lot of detailed documentation out there in English fig literature, and it doesn't seem to be as widely distributed as the classic European varieties. Heads up though — confirming this variety's ID can be tricky because there's not much photographic or ampelographic reference material floating around in common circulation.
