[Reference entry - not a grower report] This post was generated automatically from public fig references to seed the variety archive. It is not anyone's first-hand growing experience, and the photos are generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica, not of this specific variety. Corrections from real growers are welcome. Cavaliere is an Italian fig variety of uncertain or disputed documentation in English-language horticultural literature. Available information is limited and inconsistent across sources. Commonly described as a medium to large fig with dark skin, sometimes reported as brown or nearly black when ripe. Flesh is reported to be pink or red. Ripening season is typically mid to late summer. The variety name appears in Italian nursery catalogues and regional collections, but detailed morphological descriptions suitable for reliable identification are scarce in peer-reviewed or standardized references. Growers comparing specimens against this variety should note that confirmation remains difficult without access to authenticated material.
