[Reference entry - not a grower report] This post was generated automatically from public fig references to seed the variety archive. It is not anyone's first-hand growing experience, and the photos are generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica, not of this specific variety. Corrections from real growers are welcome. Bouhouli is a fig variety from North Africa, commonly associated with Tunisia and Algeria. Fruits are reported to be medium-sized with a dark purple or blackish skin when ripe. The flesh is typically deep red to purple. It is described as a breba and main-crop producer, with ripening occurring in mid to late season. The variety is occasionally referenced in regional cultivation lists but remains less widely documented in English-language pomological literature than major commercial cultivars. Synonyms and local names may vary by region.
