[Reference entry - not a grower report] This post was generated automatically from public fig references to seed the variety archive. It is not anyone's first-hand growing experience, and the photos are generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica, not of this specific variety. Corrections from real growers are welcome. Assafri is a fig variety of Middle Eastern origin, commonly grown in the Levantine region. The fruit is reported to be medium-sized with a dark brown to purple skin when ripe. The flesh is typically described as amber to reddish, with a sweet flavor. It is known to produce two crops in suitable climates—a breba crop and a main summer-to-fall crop. Little published morphological detail exists in English-language pomology; identification should be supported by local knowledge or nursery documentation, as confusion with other dark-skinned regional varieties is possible.
