[Reference entry - not a grower report]
This post was auto-generated from public fig references to build out the variety archive. It's not based on anyone's actual growing experience, and the photos are just generic Wikimedia shots of Ficus carica, not this specific variety. Real grower corrections are totally welcome.
Blanca is a fig variety commonly described as having pale or whitish skin, often with a greenish tint when it's immature. The fruit is medium-sized and reported to ripen in mid to late summer. Flesh is typically light-colored and sweet. The variety is grown mainly in Mediterranean and warm-temperate regions. There's not much documented synonymy for this name in English-language fig literature, though local or historical names probably vary by region. It sometimes gets mixed up with other light-skinned varieties like Panachée or Verdal cultivars.
