Hortella

Variedad declarada: Hortella

[Reference entry - not a grower report] This post was generated automatically from public fig references to seed the variety archive. It is not anyone's first-hand growing experience, and the photos are generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica, not of this specific variety. Corrections from real growers are welcome. Hortella is a fig variety of Portuguese origin, commonly grown in the Iberian Peninsula. The fruit is reported to be small to medium, with a pale greenish or yellowish skin, often with some russetting. The flesh is described as pink to red and sweet. It is classified as a breba-and-main crop producer, with the main crop ripening in late summer to early autumn. Little documentation is widely available in English-language horticultural literature, so field descriptions from growers in its native region remain a primary source for confirmation.
