[Reference entry - not a grower report]
This post was auto-generated from public fig references to get the variety archive started. It's not anyone's actual growing experience, and the photos are just generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica, not this specific variety. Real growers are totally welcome to correct anything.
O'Rourke is an American fig variety with pretty sketchy origins and not much documentation. The fruit's supposedly medium-sized with dark skin. You see it pop up sometimes in heirloom and specialty fig collections, but it's not really well described in the horticultural literature. It's hard to ID because there's barely any published info on it and it could get mixed up with other dark-skinned American cultivars. If you run into this variety name, you should double-check where it came from, since there's no consistent info out there on flesh color, ripening time, or how the tree grows.
