Angivet sort: Osborn Prolific

[Reference entry - not a grower report] This post was generated automatically from public fig references to seed the variety archive. It is not anyone's first-hand growing experience, and the photos are generic Wikimedia images of Ficus carica, not of this specific variety. Corrections from real growers are welcome. Osborn Prolific is a common American fig variety, historically grown in southern regions. Figs are reported to be medium-sized, with yellow-green to light brown skin and pale pink to amber flesh. The tree is described as vigorous and prolific, producing fruit over an extended season. Ripening occurs from midsummer into fall. The variety is sometimes listed under alternate names and may be confused with other prolific American varieties such as Celeste or Brown Turkey. Historical records suggest it was circulated as a hardy, productive choice for home growers.
